Body composition is an important component for good health and athletic performance. However, to improve or maintain appropriate body composition, reliable body composition assessment is required. Bioimpedance analysis has been gaining popularly by researchers and health practitioners due to its easy-to-use property, validity, and reliability. This article reviews previous literature on body composition measurement in the applications of multifrequency bioelectrical impedance analysis and its application in the sports research. Last, applications of this assessment tool for future research and application directions are reported.
