摘要

腦血管疾病位居十大死亡原因第三位，腦血管疾病除了是國人死亡的重要原因，也是造成長期殘廢失能的主要原因。依據系統性回顧研究也發現，住進中風中心的中風病人，一年內的死亡率，是一般病房中風病患的0.79倍（勝算比爲0.79），其他併發症也減少。台大醫院於2002年整合院內資源成立腦中風中心，具體照護成效有：腦中風的認知教育與護理、急性腦中風病人吞嚥篩檢成效及降低急性腦中風病人留置尿管相關尿路感染率成效。

The cerebrovascular diseases is the third leading cause of death in Taiwan. Moreover, the survivors from cerebrovascular disease suffer from long term disability because of the sequel of the disease. According to systematical research reviews, the stroke patients receiving care in the stroke center had a lower mortality rate (0.79) compared to those in the general medical units. Additionally, these patients had fewer complications secondary to stroke. National Taiwan University Hospital opened a stroke center to provide integrated care in 2002. The accomplishment s of the stroke center include patient education regarding awareness and care after stroke, swallowing screening for the patient with swallow difficulty, and reduction of urinary tract infection secondary to retention of the urinary catheter.
