The prevention of the inpatients' falling off has become one of the important issues in the country as the rising awareness of patient safety. Seniors generally refer to the elderly people aged over 65 years. Once a fall occurs, the injuries caused may range from mild to serious conditions. Therefore, this article reviews the literature and concludes that the risk factors for falls of the hospitalized elderly include: Behavioral or Psychological; Biological, Environmental or Situational; and Socioeconomic Factors. This essay introduced: "Fall Risk Screening, Risk Factor Assessment for Hospitalized Elderly and Fall Prevention Measures for Hospitalized Elderly". Identify the elderly with a high risk of falls through risk screening, understand the reasons for the high risk through risk factor assessment, and hence provide corresponding nursing measures to prevent falls after assessing the risk factors. This case hopefully can provide a reference for clinical staff to implement the fall prevention plan for the elderly in hospital, in order to reduce the incidence of the elderly falls in hospital and improve the safety of patients.
