Electromagnetic Scattering of an Eccentric Dielectric Cylinder Excited by Plane Wave

摘要


The electromagnetic scattering of dielectric cylinder buried in half space can be equivalent by an eccentric dielectric cylinder with long offset. Traditionally the numerical method is applied, while the analytic solution is deduced. Utilizing mode-matching method, the boundary conditions are transformed to a matrix equation. Solving the matrix equation, the problem is worked out. The physical meaning is clear. Numerical results show that this solution agrees with the literature method in concentric dielectric cylinder, and also agree with the FDTD method in eccentric dielectric cylinder. It is more accurate than the literature method. This solution can fast compute the electromagnetic scattering of eccentric dielectric cylinder as well as the dielectric cylinder buried in half space.
