探討減重手術與肥胖患者身體心像之關係

摘要

肥胖，容易產生併發症，是全球極為重視的健康問題。肥胖患者常須面對「瘦才是美」的社會價值觀。然而，當個體的體態樣貌與期待的理想體態有落差，遭受到社會的異樣眼光、排斥態度，或對個體的負面評價，容易對身體心像不滿意，產生身體心像紊亂或負面的身體心像。經由文獻查證及分析，結果發現減重手術能有效降低肥胖患者體重、改善體型，提升身體心像滿意度、健康狀態及生活品質。本文可強化護理人員之減重手術知識、了解肥胖患者身體心像的影響因素，強調臨床照護中，需並重肥胖患者生理及心理問題之評估，早期發現患者身體心像問題，以提升護理專業上的照護品質。

Obesity, prone to complications, is an important global health issue. Obese patients often have to face negative image of being not beautiful, resulting in dissatisfaction with their body image. A review of related studies indicated that Bariatric surgery can effectively reduce body weight in obese patients, improve body shape and health, which in turn increase satisfaction of body image and enhance quality of life. This article can help further the understanding of bariatric surgery and the problem of negative body image among obese patients. Nurses should assess both physiological and psychological problems of obese patients so as to identify issues related to body image and tailor the nursing care to their needs.
