Dementia is still considered an incurable terminal illness to date. The persons with dementia are often with varying degrees of eating problems in progressively neurodegenerative process. Caregivers often face decision dilemma if using tube feeding to provide artificial nutrition support for their relative with dementia. Currently, tube feeding is no longer considered a standard of care for eating problem of dementia. The care providers should provide evident results about tube feeding to ensure those persons with dementia and their caregiver to be informed with sufficient information to make feeding decisions. In addition, care providers should to develop the dementia friendly diet plan, and provide comfort feeding to enhance the quality of life of those with dementia.
