摘要

慢性疾病是造成失能主要原因之一，然而，失能照護需仰賴照顧者的投入，卻造成照顧負荷影響到照顧者自身健康，而照顧負荷亦已被歸類為慢性疾病的一類。減緩照顧者負荷是我國在建構長期照顧系統中，不能不去面對的議題。美國史丹福大學病人教育中心針對慢性病推動一系列自我管理的工作坊，最新推出的是照顧者自我管理工作坊，在美國皆具實證成效。2019年臺灣開始推動，初步經驗是同樣具有成效，或可提供給國內各界有辦理照顧者相關課程之單位或團體參考。

Chronic diseases are one of the main causes of disability. Disability care depends on the caregiver's input. However the caregiving burden affects the caregiver's own health, and the caregiving burden has been classified as a chronic disease. Reducing the burden of caregivers is an issue that we must face in constructing a long-term care system. The Stanford University Patient Education Center promotes a series of self-management workshops for chronic diseases. The newest workshop is about caregiver self-management which was launched in Taiwan in 2019. The initial experience is as effective as that in the United States, or it can be used as a reference for units or groups in Taiwan who have courses related to caregivers.
