美國資優教育專業社群關心什麼議題?-出席2011年美國資優教育年會(NAGC Convention)見聞

What Do the Professionals in U.S. Gifted Education Care About?-Thoughts on NAGC 2011 Convention

摘要


每年美國資優教育學會(National Association for Gifted Children, NAGC)舉辦的研討會是美國資優教育專業社群最重要的年度盛事。不僅提供大學與教學現場研究成果發表與交流的機會,實務教師也透過參加研討會,取得專業發展時數的認證。整體而言,2011年的重點除了繼續幫助教師了解資優教育的重要概念(例如:鑑定、區分性教學等),同時也發表了新的美國資優教育學會學前至12年級的資優教育標準修正版。今年NAGC大會也更強調要了解資優教師的需求,期待能更提供符合實務現場需要的專業訓練。本文除簡要介紹NAGC大會的特色外,主要匯集三位與會者參與專題短講的筆記與會後討論心得,摘要整理以供參考。

Each year the Annual Convention held by National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) is one of the most important events in the field of gifted education in the United States. Researchers come to share their research findings while teachers in gifted education attend the convention as an opportunity for professional development. The 2011 Convention mainly focusd on big ideas in the gifted education field such as identification and differentiated instruction and also new topics, such as the revised NAGC P-12 Gifted Programming Standards. Emphasis wasalso placed on understanding the needs of gifted teachers so that appropriate professional training could be provided. This paper includedan introduction to the 2011 Convention and summaries and thoughts on mini keynotes and signature series the authors attended.
