Hot Pepper Variety Development through Evaluation of Heterosis and Combining Ability

摘要


對8 Lines×3 Testers雜交配對的組合與親本,進行田間產量與產量相關性狀量測,其組合的雜種優勢分析顯示,開花期、果實成熟期和產量的雜種優勢皆高於高表現親本,偏向非加性基因(non-additive gene)的作用;組合力的變方分析,除了開花期以外的其他性狀,其一般組合力和特殊組合力的變方(S^2(下标 GCA)和S^2(下标 SCA)))皆有顯著差異,表示有加性基因與非加性基因的作用;而開花期、果實成熟期、株高和產量,其組合力的SCA值大於GCA值,表示非加性基因的作用多於加性基因的作用;而FP-1×MP-4和FP-2×MP-5兩個組合為24個組合中產量最高者,其除了親本有較高的GCA值外,兩個組合則具有最高的SCA值。

Hot pepper parents and hybrids from an 8 Lines X 3 Testers array were measured for several morphological traits and yield in a replicated field trial. Analysis of heterosis indicated that early flowering and early fruit maturity as well as yield displayed high parent heterosis in every cross combination, suggesting non-additive genes action. The variance for general combining ability (S^2(subscript gca) and for specific combining ability (S^2(subscript sca) differed significantly in all the parameters except flowering date, suggesting both additive and non-additive genes actions. In traits such as early flowering, early maturity, plant height and fruit yield, SCA values were greater than GCA values, suggesting that non-additive actions are more influential than additive actions in phenotypic expression. The two cross combinations with the highest yields (FP-1/MP-4 and FP-2/MP-5) not only involved parents with superior GCAs, but also the highest SCAs measured in this evaluation.
