This study surveyed medical laboratory professionals from different medical institutions instead of in central Taiwan. Of particular concern were professional career commitment, organizational commitment, and personal data. 175 of the 500 questionnaires sent out were returned, accounting for a return rate of 35%. Survey results indicate that medical laboratory professionals generally tend to have a high level of professional career commitment, especially in the selection of medical laboratory as their professional career and ability to solve work-related problems. In terms of organizational commitment, the survey results are not as optimistic as the professional career commitment. According to personal data, all personal background characteristics had a negative relationship with professional career commitment or organizational commitment. However, organizational commitment and professional career commitment were positively related.
