摘要

本研究目的在探討某護理學理院新生口腔健康狀況、口腔保健知識、態度及行為。研究群體為該校88學年度入學之全體新生，資料收集方法包括問卷調查及口腔檢查。研究結果發現有28.8%的受檢者認為自己的牙齒不健康，齲齒指數(DMFT)為8.8±4.9，平均牙菌指數(plaque index)為50.3±17.1，牙齦周圍組織不健康者佔74.8%。受檢者的口腔保健威脅較高的危險群特質是：幼保系學生、原住民族群、單身尚無異性朋友者或自覺牙齒健康較差者。根據研究結果，該校已展開全面性的口腔健康促進方案，包括：(1)自我檢測系統的應用；(2)口腔保健共同意識的建構；(3)口腔保健知識與態度的強化；(4)加強高危險群的追蹤、服務。

This study examines how oral health and behavior, knowledge and concept of oral hygiene are related. The target group is the university freshman class at the Nursing College for 1999. Questionnaires and oral examinations were down to gather data. According to out results, 28.8% ±4.9 and plaque index is 50.3 ± 17.1. 74.8% of the students feel that their gums are not healthy. Additionally, the students’ knowledge about oral prevention care is under level, their attitude towards preventive care is inadequate, and the frequency of their practice in preventive care is inadequate. The high-risk ones on the deficiency of dental prevention care are students from the Department of Infant and Children Care, students from aborigines or students without a good boyfriend (girlfriend). According to our results, the college has implemented a promotional program for oral health. The program aims to achieve the following: (1) encourage the practicing of oral hygienic self-examination, (2) foster culture of oral prevention on the campus, (3) reinforce the importance of concern over one’s oral health and (4) increase follow-up checks and service of high-risk groups.
