摘要


雖然二十一世紀是網路的年代,可是在外語學習上高科技的運用卻是嚴重地落後其發展速度。目前在外語教學上其所碰到的瓶頸有:資源的缺乏、預算的不足、授課時間的考量和教師再進修等問題。除了上述的困難之外,在移植高科技到語言教室時我們還必須考慮到許多其它因素比如:學生的需要、學生的個別差異、其高科技的駕馭能力、教學理論架構、教材的呈現方式、教材的難異和學習成果評估等項目。 本文將探討目前已在語言學習中被廣為討論及應用的幾個項目:電子郵件、聊天室及網際網路。並將以聊天室的運用為例來規劃電子作業,而其目的就是希望能藉著新科技為外語教學打開另一扇新的視窗。

This paper starts with an observation that the application of advanced technology in foreign language learning falls behind the technological progress of the current Age of the Internet. Some difficulties arise in foreign language teaching including the insufficiency in resources, tight teaching schedule, teachers' in-service training, etc. In addition, some other factors must be considered in implementing high technology in the setting of language learning and teaching: students’ needs and individual differences, technological competence, theoretical framework of teaching, presentation of methodology, levels of materials, and evaluation of learning effects. This paper analyzes the functioning of E-mail, chatrooms, and the Internet in foreign language learning and teaching. The use of chatrooms in doing electronic assignments is specially highlighted with new possibilities of Spanish classes in prospect.
