Cabinet of Prince KONOE Fumimaro(近衛文麿) came up with a concept of the ”Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere”(大東亞共榮圈, Shinjitai) in August 1940. Under the imagination of ”Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity(大東亞共榮)”, ”The First Greater East Asia Literary Conference” was convened in November 1942. The participants not only came from Japanese inland, but from colonial Taiwan, Korea and semicolonial countries such as China, Manchuria and mongolia.Mitsuru Nishikawa and Hayao Hamada attended ”The First Greater East Asia Literary Conference” on behalf of Japanese writers in Taiwan. This thesis determines to study both of their remarks and creations before and after the meeting to observe how Japanese writers in Taiwan carry out the conference idea. Referred to the explanation of colonial Japanese writers gain cultural capital through participation and the act in cooperation of national literary and art mechanism, so they are able to approach the core of empire literary and then acquire the literary position.
