This is a case study of an elder woman that suffered from deep neck infection. Deep neck infection is an acute, severe infectious disease. The disease may threaten life due to the complications of suffocation and sepsis. The woman had suffered from several chronic diseases such as DM, hypertension, hepatitis and arthritis for many years. Deep neck infection also resulted in impeding suffocation and threatened her life during the initial hospitalization. However, she was successfully relieved without complication. This study discussed the nursing diagnoses of high risk of suffocation, pain, nutrition less than that of body requirements, impaired integrity of skin and the strain on the caregiver and also suggested the nursing intervention and care for the future.
