This study examines the scoring skill effectiveness module of the winning teams in contemporary women's volleyball, and the differences in scoring skill effectiveness rate between winners and losers. This study uses the data of 2004 Women's Grand Prix preliminary round in Miao-li. The data consists of the analysis of the six games cross-played among Brazil, China, Germany and Dominic Republic, and is analysed through descriptive statistics, one factor analysis of variance, t-test of independent samples, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Findings show that average spiking and blocking skill effectiveness has a positive relation to the teams ranking in the game. Moreover, the better the ranking is for a team, the lower their spiking error rate is and the more points they gain from the opponent's errors. The average serving effectiveness rate ranges between 2% and 6%. There is a distinctive difference between the winner and the loser teams in their spiking, blocking effectiveness and the opponent's error rates. The spiking effectiveness and the opponent's error rates are media to high negativity relevant to the team ranking.
