摘要

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a non-steroid anti-inflammatory spray Benzydamine hydrochloride (BH) to release postoperative sore throat. This was a prospective, randomized, double-blind study. We enrolled 42 qualified patients who were just postoperative and extubated in the SICU in a medical center. Patients were randomly assigned into group BH and group NH (narmal saline). Grading of postoperative sore throat and solution spray were done at 0, 3, 6, and 24 hours after patients were extubated. The results showed that the mean differences of sore throat of 0~3 hours, 0~6 hours and 0~24 hours in group BH were all significantly higher than that in group NH (p＜0.001). We concluded that Benzydamine hydrochloride had pronounced effects on reducing postoperative sore throat in postoperative patients. Whether Benzydamine hydrochloride given before extubation have better effect to reduce postoperative sore throat, need further investigation.
