薑黃素不影響老化促進幼鼠之生殖功能

Curcumin Did Not Affect the Reproductive Function of Young Senescence Accelerated Mice

摘要


本研究目的在探討薑黃素對雄性老化促進小鼠生殖功能之影響。試驗以16隻2月齡雄性老化促進小鼠(senescence accelerated mice, SAMP8)為對象,將其分為控制組及1%薑黃素組,每組八隻,餵食10週。試驗期間記錄其體重、攝食量。動物犧牲後稱其臟器重量,並觀察精子活動力、濃度及副睪病理變化。結果顯示在體重、攝食量、睪丸、副睪之相對重量及其他臟器重量方面,二組間未達顯著差異。飲食中添加薑黃素組精蟲活動力及精蟲濃度與控制組並無顯著性差異。此外薑黃素組副睪輸精管內死亡精蟲總數及每管腔平均死亡精蟲數與控制組相比亦無顯著差異。綜合以上結果顯示,薑黃素對年輕老化促進小鼠之生殖功能並無不良影響。

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of curcumin on the reproductive function in senescence accelerated mice prone-8 (SAMP8). Sixteen 2-month-old male SAMP8 mice were divided into the control group and experimental group supplemented with 1% curcumin, 8 in each groups, for 10 weeks. The body weight and food intake were recorded, while the organ weights, spermatozoa motility and concentration, and epididymis histopathological examinations were determined after sacrificed. The results showed that the body weight, food intake, relative weights of testes, epididymis and other organs weights did not differ between the control and curcumin groups. The sperm motility and concentration of curcumin group did not differ with the control group. It was noted that the total dead sperm number in epididymis and mean dead sperm number in seminiferous tubule also did not differ between two groups. In summary, we concluded that the supplementation of curcumin did not have adverse effect on the reproductive function in young SAMP8 mice.
