2011年9月5、6、7日為期三天,由長庚大學醫學院人文及社會醫學科與奧地利維也納大學醫學倫理與法律研究中心(Institut für Ethik und Recht in der Medizin/ Institute for Ethics and Law in Medicine)獲得台灣國科會與奧地利國家科學基金會(FWF)聯合補助,假奧地利維也納大學共同主辦「台奧雙邊合作學術研討會:『醫學中的人觀-傳統中醫與西方醫學的探索』」(Taiwanese-Austrian Joint Seminar ”The Conception of the Human Being in Medicine: Exploring Boundaries between Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine”)。此會議不但促進雙方 研究人員的認識與交流,針對相關議題進行跨領域與跨文化的深入討論,並且使兩國邁出實質學術合作關係的第一步。本文將介紹此次會議之緣起與宗旨,各場發表論文之要義,會議結論以及雙方未來合作研究方向,並於文末提出筆者對此次合作計畫之心得以及對我國醫學教育研究與發展的幾個看法,以供國內從事醫學人文與生命倫理學研究及教育者參考。
The purpose of this report is to provide an overview and synthesis of the Taiwanese-Austrian Joint Seminar on ”The Conception of the Human Being in Medicine: Exploring Boundaries between Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine” that held on 5th-7th September 2011 at University of Vienna, Austria. This seminar was jointly organized by Department of Medical Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Medicine, Chang Gung University and Institute for Ethics and Law in Medicine, University of Vienna, and co-sponsored by National Science Councul, Taiwan and Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung, Austria. This seminar brought together a group of interdisciplinary scholars from Taiwan and Austria to discuss issues under the broad theme on the conception of human being in medicine from interdisciplinary and intercultural perspectives of philosophy, theology, anthropology, bioethics, social studies, history of medicine, TCM and CAM, etc. It is hoped that this report will increase more understanding of and interest in the academic cooperation between Taiwan and Austria as well as create helpful discussions related to medical humanities, bioethics and medical education in Taiwan.
