In spite of the widely acceptance of Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS) in the corporate setting for the past decade in the States, academic environments have not yet recognize its usages. Taking a local introspection, the field of information education holds an incorrect perception toward the concept of EPSS. The goal of this paper aims to present EPSS from a performance improvement perspective after introducing its definitions, evolution, and traditional classifications. Finally, the article discusses how the concept of EPSS should be brought into the academic setting in Taiwan.
