A newly naturalized tree, Cinnamomum bunnannii (Nees) Blume, has been found in central Taiwan. The morphology of C. burrnannii (Nees) Blume is very similar to C. osmophloeum Kanehira, and is distinguished from the latter by its dark green leaf abaxial surface, reddish branchlet, and truncate persistent tepals. This Lauraceae species, native to southeast Asia and Indonesia, is described and illustrated in this report.
