It is the result of dysfunctional systematic mechanism giving rise to pathological changes inside the human body and is closely related to the liver and the stomach. It can also be caused by ascariasis. Children are a common patient group with clinical symptoms. This article bases its argumentation on three causes of bruxism as identified in Chinese medicine: brimming heat of the heart and spleen, spleen deficiency, and ascariasis. Children nowadays also suffer chronic bruxism that undermines their dental health as a result of emotional changes, stress in daily life, dietary habits and infection. Parents cannot be more careful. The cause of bruxism must be established first and verified in order to provide necessary care based on individual children's conditions accordingly.
