This paper studies the application of genetic algorithms on user-oriented portfolio selection. The portfolio considers the user's preference in addition to the common return and risk factors. The empirical results show that genetic algorithms are very good at producing portfolios that completely satisfy user's requirements and are comparable to the best mutual funds in performance.
