Parameter Investigation of Detrended Fluctuation Analysis for Short-term Human Heart Rate Variability

並列摘要

Heart rate variability (HRV) analysis is used to explore the rapid physiologic fluctuations that reflect changes of sympathetic and vagal activity. The physiologic fluctuation signal is not simply a linear index, but it also involves nonlinear contributions. Detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) is a nonlinear analysis method and has been demonstrated to be useful to distinguish the heartbeat time series signal between healthy subjects and those with severe congestive heart failure (CHF) diseases, however, in the past. DFA has always required long-term data analysis (e.g. 24 hours) for its basis. In this paper, we consider how a short-term time series can still present useful analysis results. We used the DFA method to find the effect of HRV in different time series (from 10 minutes to 24 hours). The measurement groups included 37 healthy (17 young and 20 old), 43 CHF and 9 atrial fibrillation (AF) adults. The scaling exponent a value of young adults from 10 minutes to 24 hours had no statistically significant difference in the different time series. Ten minutes, data may he the minimum to reliably predict healthy adults by the DFA method. Although 24-hour time series data of old, CHF, and AF groups were not all currently available, the same inference 1mm our statistical results of the short-term time point of the a value for old. CHF and AF groups required at least 20 minutes, 2 hours and 1 hour time series data in our study, respectively. Just as with the α value, we could predict the al andα2 values of time series points for four groups. The reliable prediction points for the al value of young, old, CHF and AF groups needed at least 10-minute. 20-minute, 30-minute and 2-hour time series in our study, respectively. The α2 value predicting points of young, old, CHF and AF groups needed at least 10-minute, 20-minute. 3-hour anti 1-hour time series, respectively. In conclusion, we found the DFA it value of different groups had a minimum rime series for calculation in order to obtain reliable results. Moreover, α and α2 had lower coefficient of variation value and so are better indices thanαl for the physiological condition from the point of view of convergence.
