Lung cancer is common and extrapulmonary metastasis occurs frequently and early in the course of the disease. However, a solitary metastasis to the small bowel is extremely rare, especially when it is the leading point of adult intussusception that requires surgical intervention. We present a case of adult intussusception in which a solitary metastatic small bowel lesion was the leading point, and we review literature on the subject. The possibility of small bowel metastasis must be considered when abdominal symptoms occur in a patient who has a history of lung cancer. Although the prognosis is poor, short-term survival is improved by early diagnosis and prompt palliative surgical management.
