Myoclonus During Induction and Recurrence in the Postoperative Room-A Case Report

摘要

Drug-induced involuntary movement is an uncommon event that anesthesiologists may easily neglect during or after general anesthesia because a muscle relaxant is used. However, a 29-year-old female was scheduled for endolaryngeal microsurgery for a vocal cord polyp under general anesthesia. Involuntary movement was immediately observed after propofol was injected in the operating room and recurred after the patient was sent to the postoperative care unit. There were no specific findings on brain computed tomography after this clinical episode. The involuntary movement subsided without recurrence after discharge and during follow-up for 1 year.
