民間雕刻之描述論點初探:雕刻文本脈絡、藝術場域與社會機制

Description of the Folk Carvings: Context, Art Field and Functioning Mechanisms

摘要


本文以鹿港與三義地區木作雕刻為範疇,針對雕刻文本脈絡、場域脈絡與社會機制脈絡三方面為描述論點進行民間雕刻的描述分析。本文描述架構是以圖像符號分析角度討論文本內容的傳統審美及風格、文本圖像的教化價值及社會性,以及文本氛圍的相互作用,再從文本連結藝術社會學觀點下的「場域」概念,以探討傳統雕刻的作者、作品與藝術場域相互關係、特質與組成結構,進而分析傳統雕刻社會之運作模式和社群專業養成網絡等多元論述。本文旨在觀察台灣民間傳統雕刻在當代藝術社會的面向並提出初步論述,從文本分析以及「場域」論述之方向來討論傳統藝術的本質、傳統藝術社會關係以及傳統藝術場域之發展、變遷與脈絡,有助於銜接藝術社會學理以及傳統藝術研究之論點。

From the perspectives of sociology of art, this analytic study of traditional carvings in Taiwan has a three-fold research purpose. First, it discusses the carving contents, expression of symbols and cultural representation of traditional carving context. Second, it analyzes the social relations, networking in the functioning mechanism, as well as the ”cultural capital” of masters groups. Third, exemplified by the development of Kung-Kang and San-I, this study discusses the nature and change of the folk art field in contemporary society. Essentially, this study offers a different perspective on the issues of contemporary folk art field. It also provides an opportunity to reconsider the aesthetics of visual representation of folk carvings. Moreover, the issues on the development of art social groups, network functions and relations inside contemporary folk art field are studied and analyzed. It is hoped that this study would help to better understand the development of folk art society in Taiwan.
