Effect of Vitamin Csupplementation on Blood Lactate Concentration in Swimmers

摘要


The major purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of vitamin C supplementation on blood lactate concentration, in TPEC's swimmers. The group with vitamin C supplements had lower post-exercise lactate concentration (4.84±0.58mmol/L). In contrast, the lactate concentration of Control group was largely elevated post-exercise (7-9mmol/L). The difference between of two groups was statistically significant. This evidence indicates that the vitamin C supplementation may be beneficial to fatigue prevention for swimmers. Furthermore, pre-exercise lactate level in the subjects with vitamin C supplementation was 5.17±0.655mmol/L. Post-exercise lactate level in the subjects with vitamin C supplementation was reached 7.98±1.67mmol/L compared to the control group that was reached 8.17mmol/L (p<0.05). This evidence suggests that the supplementation may be able to increase aerobic endurance. After three-week active recovery period, subjects were Received 500mg of Neoenergy brand vitamin C daily. Similar effects on aerobic endurance as indicated by lactate concentration.
