苗栗客家山歌的語言風格

A Study in the Linguistic Style of Miaoli's Hakkian Folksongs

摘要


客家山歌是即興編唱的口傳文學,以七言四句為其基本形式。唱山歌係客家人在勞動中用以紓壓,表達男女情思、訴說風土民情、歌詠生活與自然等的妙劑,為客家人生活重要的一環,同時儲存客家人豐富的語言材料。語言風格,係在作品中,由語言因素影響而形成的審美風貌和格調,即作品通過具體的語言表現形式所呈現的特質。本文以苗栗地區田野調查的客家山歌詞為研究範圍,透過「句法」、「音韻」、「詞彙」三個向度梳理其語言現象。經由語言的多重角度考察苗栗客家山歌,不僅層層挖掘其語言風格特性,觀照客家山歌語言的紛繁面貌,進而透過這些生動鮮明、形象化的語言,顯映先民在心靈底層積澱的真實情感與精神內涵,揭示客家民族的語言文化傳統。

Hakkian Folksongs, improvised by the Hakkas is an oral literature. The majority of forms are seven words and four sentences. These songs are sung while working as a way to relieve stress, express men and women's affection, relate the local conditions and customs, sing life and the nature and so on. These songs are a main part of the Hakkas' daily life and preserve plentiful Hakka language at the same time. The linguistic style is in the work, forms the esthetic style by the language factor influence, namely the work's special characteristic which presents through the specific language manifestation. Using field investigation as a means to research Miaoli's Hakkian folksongs, I analyzed the sentence structure, rhythm and word usage of these songs to expound upon the language used in these works. In using a multitude of different linguistic analysis angles to research Miaoli's Hakkian folksongs, it is evident that the material is quite complicated on all levels, and in studying this vivid and very visual language you can come to understand the spirit, feelings, experiences which have been accumulated in the hearts of these people. In researching all aspect of these songs we can come to understand the Hakka’s linguistic and cultural heritage and traditions.
