This report describes a nursing care experience, regarding a thoracic accident contusion and hemopneumothorax patient who was sent to the ICU ward due to shock symptoms with an endotracheal tube and chest tube bilateral treatment. Patient ICU care process included gas exchange disorder, acute pain, anxiety and hyperthermia presenting as nursing health problems. However, through our applicable hemodynamic support to maintain stable vital signs, establish a good relationship with the patient and her family by using the nursing skills of empathy, attention, and systematic observational assessment to offer pain control and mental support, we were able to successfully help the patient and her family pass this difficult time at the ICU.
