Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major cause of death and disability in the world. It is characterized by symptoms of dyspnea that result in a sedentary lifestyle and activity intolerance. Previous research in the United States has shown that exercise will improve activity tolerance and quality of life, but less research has focused on the effect of exercise in Taiwan. Clinical nurses also seldom implementing it. The purpose of this article is to explore the effects of exercise on the COPD patientss, and to call more nurses' attention to the importance of exercise.
