Foot drop refers to an inability to lift the forefoot due to weakness of the dorsiflexors. It would be caused by nerve entrapment, trauma, compartment syndrome, iatrogenic injury, or neuropathy. Iatrogenic injury is common seen when patient maintain a fixed posture for long time during operation. This case is about an 27-year-old woman with drop foot after an long operation lasting 13 hours. After acupuncture treatment for one month, the severity of weakness of the dorsiflexors and numbness significantly alleviated.
