Fever is the most important indicator for neutropenic patients with infection. Neutropenia fever can quickly develop and become life-threatening. In order to decreasing mortality, systematic assessment and initiative in using empirical antibiotic therapy need to be established. Colony-stimulating factors are recommended as supportive therapies for neutropenic patients. It is now well understood that primary prophylaxis with colony-stimulating factors treatment can reduce the incidence of neutropenia fever. Oncology nurses play a key role in nursing care of neutropenia fever. The recoomendations of this article are to set up nursing standards in preventing and monitoring patients' clinical performance, assessing patients' symptoms and signs, evaluating outcome and ensuring that patients and families education. It is essential and to achieve the goal of high quality care for neutropenic patients.
