The purpose of breast cancer screening is to decrease the breast cancer mortality rates. Mammography is still the well-known gold standard in breast cancer screening. Despite the efforts of Government and healthcare workers in promoting the breast cancer screening, the compliance rate among women in Taiwan remains low. Healthcare professionals need to continue to stress the importance of breast cancer screening and encourage more women to participate. In order to maintain quality assurance, BIRADs category and ACR standards have always been used as benchmarks for quality measures accompanied by annual evaluations. In light of the developing trend of individualized service in breast cancer screening, identifying personal risk factors for individually tailored interventions presents itself as a major challenge for the future.
