陳奇祿(1923-2014)是臺灣當代民俗研究的前輩,他在戰後(1945年之後)主編《公論報》之〈臺灣風土〉副刊,對臺灣民俗研究做出極大貢獻。本研究以〈臺灣風土〉2013年版本,加上陳奇祿之口述歷史做為研究材料,藉此耙梳過去臺灣民俗研究,重新整理本土民俗知識的出現過程。本文寫作目的不只探討陳奇祿其個人在學術上的成就,同時也著重臺灣民俗研究發展脈絡。其次,筆者從他的生命史以及在人類學、民俗學的研究貢獻,分析陳奇祿在學術寫作風格的特色。本文分五部分:(1)前言:耙梳臺灣民俗研究脈絡與〈臺灣風土〉簡介;(2)民俗與學術之間的陳奇祿;(3)臺灣本土民俗知識的出現;(4)民俗知識探集與傳播的延續;(5)總結及附錄陳奇祿大事年表。藉此彰顯陳奇祿與〈臺灣風土〉在臺灣民俗學的重要性。
Chi-lu Chen (1923-2014) was an eminent scholar and a forefather of modem folklore research in Taiwan. As the editor of the supplement "Taiwanese Customs" that was published in Taiwan Justice Weekly News {Gung Lun Bad) in early post-war Taiwan, he contributed greatly to Taiwan's folklore studies. Based on the 2013 collected edition of "Taiwanese Customs" and the oral history of Chi-lu Chen, this article reconstructs the historical context of the emergence of folklore knowledge in Taiwan and reveals Chen's significant contributions to folklore research. In addition to investigating the life of Chen and his research on folklore and anthropology, this article analyzes the special features of Chen's academic writing. This article consists of five sections: 1) A brief history of Taiwan folklore research and a detailed study of "Taiwanese Customs," 2) Chi-lu Chen between folklore and academia, 3) The emergence of Taiwan's folklore knowledge, 4) The continuity of collecting and the spread of folklore knowledge,5) A conclusion with a chronology of Chen’s life. In short, this paper highlights the importance of Chen and Gung Lun Bao's supplement "Taiwanese Customs" in Taiwan folklore research.
