台灣有先住民、河洛等四大族群,各有他們的母語。河洛人說的是源自黃河、洛水一帶的中原古音,遞傳到台灣後,由於各種因素的關系,和閩南的漳州、泉州話,雖同源但仍有許多特殊的發展、演變,形成自己的特色。用台灣河洛語思考、表現出來富有本土精神的文學作品,就是河洛語文學;詩是其中重要的一環。台灣河洛語詩在一九三O年代開始萌芽,但在殖民統治下的日據、國府時期,時斷時續,無法大量生湠。直到一九五五年,台南林宗源先生創作平生第一首作品起,四十多年來,他已撰寫了二十七本詩集,用功很勤,詩質精純,影響深遠,他誠然是台灣河洛語詩之父! 除了創作之外,在創作過程中,他也體現了許多新詩寫作的理論,因爲有實地的創作經驗,他的詩論並非紙上談兵、陳義過高,而是平實可以覆驗的;只可惜前人注意的不多,這是本論文寫作的主要動機。在他的新詩理論中,更有一特出觀點,那就是認爲:「台灣文學」(按:即台灣母語文學,尤其是河洛語文學)才是台灣文學。本論文第二大部分,即用長篇幅加以探討、述論他這一特別看法。從理論本身來看,他的看法是值得大家重視的。
“Ho-Lo” spoken by Ho-Lo people, one of the four tribal mother tongues in Taiwan, is originally from Yellow River and Lo River and then spread to the south part of Fukein Province and finally to Taiwan. The literature works written in Ho-Lo are known as “Ho-Lo literature”. And its most important genre is new poetry. Lin Tsung Yuan from Tainan has written 27 new poetry books in Ho-Lo since 1955. Seven of his works have been published and acquired many high and positive comments. He is definitely regarded as “Father of Ho-Lo in Taiwan.” In addition to writing new poetry, he personally has one-of a kind opinion to the theory of new poetry. He has studied the definition, the history, the writers, and the criticism of new poetry in Ho-Lo. He even claims that only Ho-Lo literature is Taiwanese literature.
