目的:本研究旨在比較開球木桿桿面厚度與特徵時間(Characteristic Time;CT)的差異情形。同時了解不同溫度熱處理對桿面CT值改善是否其有影響。方法:以型號JPX 850 DR金屬材料Ti-6AI-4V製成的5文開球木桿,其桿身硬度、長度與桿頭重量、體積、傾角(loft),以及擊球面(Face)厚度、面積等規格一致,一支保持原有規格,另四支分別以四種不同溫度施以熱處理5支開球木桿桿面自原始規格3.4mm起分五階段研磨,依序遞減0.2 mm,至2.4 mm止。每階段皆進行擺錘測試,每個桿面各級五點,每點各擊打五次,以獲取CT值平均數。結果:一、桿面厚度與CT值高低具顯著負相關,桿面越薄CT值越高。二、桿面均厚時,以中心點間的CT值表現最佳。三、不同溫度熱處理對CT值改變並未達顯著差異。結論:桿面厚度是影響CT值的重要因素,故製造球具時可由控制厚度改善CT值,擴大擊球甜蜜區,並設計出符合國際之CT值規範,減少不良率以降低製造成本,且可兼具提昇從事高爾夫球運動者的成績、樂趣,促進高爾夫球運動之推展。
Purpose: This study aimed to find out the relationship between Characteristic Time (CT) and the thickness of clubface. And try to find out if the heat treatment effects upon the CT or not in the meanwhile. Methods: Five Model No. JPX 850 DR wooden drivers with the same weight and length of clubs; same weight, bulk and loft of club heads; same thickness and hitting areas of clubface, all were made from Ti-AI-4V metal material. First, one driver maintained the original condition. The other four drivers were changed by heat treatment with four kinds of temperatures. Then the thickness of club faces were descended six times from the original 3.4 mm to 2.4 mm-minus 0.2 mm each time. The pendulum tests were taken after every minus-five hitting points on each clubface, five hits at each hitting point, in order to get the CT average. Results: (1) The thickness of clubface do affects CT-the thinner of the clubface the higher of CT. (2) The better CT were located in the middle and middle above area of clubface while thickness of clubface was even. (3) Heat treatment had nothing to do with CT. Conclusion: The design of clubface should pay attention to the thickness of clubface and the rule that set by USGA and R & A, since the thinner of clubface the better CT. In order to reduce the amount of scrap club heads and save costs. And improve the fun and achievement of golf players.
