臺灣活版印刷產業田野調查與文化資產潛力分析

摘要

國立科學工藝博物館（以下簡稱「科工館」）基於印刷科技主題之蒐藏計畫，在1999年與國立臺灣師範大學圖文傳播學系合作進行臺灣活版印刷產業發展研究，歷經近20年之歲月，代表性店家均已結束營業，而從2013年來活版印刷以新的面貌延續著產業，科工館在長期關注臺灣印刷產業發現，活版印刷產業轉型為不同的型態，於是構想再次進行臺灣活版印刷產業之普查研究。本研究以「行政院所屬各機關機構學校文化性資產清查評估原則」為基礎，於2016至2017年共獲取85家廠商資料進行電話訪查後，針對仍保留活版印刷機具之店家為34家進行田野調查，初步了解活版印刷產業近況，並釐清銅模與鉛字製造的技術來源與擴散模式，印證活版印刷的起源「艋舺印版街」與活版印刷時代的傳奇「中南鑄字廠」。再以田野調查結果為基礎，參考文資法之精神，分析活版印刷設備之歷史性、特殊性及完整性、業主之意願，選列2家進行文化資產潛力SWOT分析，研擬保存與活化發展方案。

The collection program of the National Science and Technology Museum (hereinafter referred to as NSTM) is based on the printing technology theme. In 1999, The NSTM cooperated with the Department of Graphic Communication of the National Taiwan Normal University to conduct research on the development of the Taiwan typographical printing industry. After nearly 20 years, representative companies have closed their business. Typography industry has been continued in a new style from 2013. The NSTM has concerned about the development of the printing industry in Taiwan for a long time. The typography industry has been transformed into a different type. Therefore, the NSTM is envisaged to conduct a census study of the Taiwan typography industry again. This study is based on the ＂Principles for the evaluation of cultural assets of schools in various organs and institutions of the Executive Yuan＂ and obtained 85 vendors' data from 2016 to 2017. After conducting a telephone interview, 34 companies are still retaining the typography equipment. After field investigations of preliminary understanding of the current situation of the typographical printing industry, and clarifying the technical source and diffusion mode of copper mold and typeface manufacturing, the origin of the typography industry ＂ Bangka Plate Street ＂ and the Legend of the times ＂Zhongnan Type Foundry＂ is confirmed. Based on the results of the field investigation, the study analysis the historic, specific and complete of the typography industry history, included the wishes of the owners, and selects two companies. The SWOT analysis is used to develop the program of conservation and activation in this two companies.
