摘要

This study investigates Catholic ancestral offerings in Eastern Taiwan based on fieldwork in an indigenous Bunun parish, as well as the cathedral and a local parish church in Hualien City. This is combined with an understanding of the historical development of these practices, together with the theory of place-making. Differences in the offerings are coordinated with the ways in which these rituals are connected with a sense of local place and ethnic identity.
