Delayed detection of colonic malignancy may lead to ominous complications. Here, we report a case of superior mesenteric arterial (SMA) occlusion caused by colon cancer, an extremely rare case never reported in English literature. Morbidity and mortality rates remain high because it frequently goes unrecognized until patients suffer adverse outcomes. It is important to keep this complication of SMA occlusion in mind when treating patients having colon cancer manifesting with acute abdomen.
