提升某院血液透析室護理人員醫療廢棄物分類之正確率
Improving the Medical Waste Classification Accuracy of Hemodialysis Room Nurses at a Certain Hospital

本專案目的提升護理人員執行醫療廢棄物分類之正確率。醫療廢棄物是醫療機構主要的產物之一，若處理不當，不僅會造成環境汙染、危害人體健康、造成院內感染及提高醫療廢棄物處理成本，專案小組於2013年1月14至19日稽核當班護理人員醫療廢棄物分類正確率，結果發現醫療廢棄物分類平均正確率僅33.3%，主要原因有：單位醫療廢棄物分類標示不清楚、護理人員醫療廢棄物分類認知不足、醫療廢棄物分類宣導未落實、設備不足、醫療廢棄物分類無定期稽核等，經由重新設計醫療廢棄物分類標示卡；舉辦單位醫療廢棄物分類認知在職教育；製作單位醫療廢棄物分類標準一覽表；增設工作車及活動式感染性收針車設備；列入單位品管組每月稽核項目，結果將醫療廢棄物分類正確率提升至95%。

The purpose of this project was to explore the cause of low classification accuracy for medical waste. Between January 14-19, 2013, field observation and auditing found that the medical waste classification accuracy of the nursing staff on duty was only 33.3%. The main causes included: the unit’s medical waste were not clearly classified; insufficient knowledge of medical waste classifications among nursing personnel; inadequate education on medical waste classifications, a lack of equipment, and no regular auditing of medical waste classification. Intervention consisted of re-designing the medical waste classification card, producing a medical waste classification reference table, hosting unit-level in-service education on medical waste classification, addition of work trolleys and mobile infectious needle recovery trolleys, and inclusion of medical waste classification accuracy in the monthly audit conducted by the unit's quality control team. Classification accuracy of medical waste was subsequently improved to 95%.
