一、二戰後英美核武關係進入了一段黑暗期。不過隨著1950年代美國政策的改變，兩國遂開始建立起密切而多元的核武關係。二、在採用美製「北極星」潛射飛彈後，英國對於美國的科技依賴深化了兩國間的「特殊關係」。三、英美的核武「特殊關係」可由國際體系、地理因素、互利或依賴、計畫與決策、科技交流以及私人關係等六個議題加以討論。

1. There had been a short dark age in the Anglo-American nuclear Special Relationship. With the change of the US policy in the 1950s, however, the two countries gradually developed close and multi-dimensional nuclear weapons interactions.2. After the adoption of the US Polaris SLBM as the major strategic nuclear system, the UK's increasing technological dependence strengthened the nuclear Special Relationship between London and Washington.3. In this article, the nature of the Anglo-American nuclear Special Relationship is analysed by examining a set of variables with the headings of international system, geography, independence and dependence, planning and decision-making, technological interactions, and personality.
