Roles in two fields of work and family might be incompatible due to the expectation of roles from the one field. Our study is to develop the scale to measure work-family conflict and family-work conflict from the demand of expected roles in the two fields. In addition, our scale is multi-dimensional one which separates the two constructs: ”work-family conflict” and ”family-work conflict”. As the result, eleven items in supervisors, colleagues', and organizations' demand are developed for the construct of work-family conflict while ten ones in partners', children's, and elders' demand are developed for the construct of family-work conflict.
