環境傳播,期引起觀/聽眾拓展其興趣與知識境界的渴望,並且從陳述的生界事實中,感受更為貼近真理的領悟。新興的解說研究,其理論來源主要有三:傳播、心理與教育。此文將藉由討論、詮釋、與譯註,呈現襲產解說領域的重要作品”An Interpretive Dialogue”的撰寫背景、學理依據與貢獻,及可提供後續討論及應用的想法與方法。解說對話的三個創新觀點:(1)解說需視參與者為有獨立思想、行動、及主權的君王,(2)解說方案發展工具論,(3)主旨的靈魂角色,促進環境解說與其他學門的對話。並藉討論解說的標準與品質,協助襲產傳播溝通者,思索專業「質」的提升。最後此論述強調此篇對話的時代突破,在於具體提供「解說轉化」的方法論,提出具體資源與抽象意涵之連結及主旨,為解說之必然元素,及其方法論超越評估者主觀的限制,可進行解說作品及解說成效的縱向及橫向的大尺度分析。
The profession of heritage interpretation strives not for instruction, but provocation. Traditionally, interpretive research gains theoretical foundation from three disciplines: communication, psychology, and education. The purpose of the paper is to present ”An Interpretive Dialogue,” a writing that has gained recognition since 1996, as an insight to the greater heritage communication community. The researchers suggest that the ”Dialogue” highlights three arguments: (1) visitor has sovereignty to decide the value of resources, (2) program development needs to employ methodologies, and (3) a thematic interpretation may provoke care for heritage resources and resource preservation. The researchers also suggest that the methodology presented in the ”Dialogue” may have significance for program development, analysis, and evaluation. The implications of this paper may serve as a platform for communication researchers and practitioners for the pursuit of professionalism.
