Objectives: To determine if differences in the individual variables of healthcare employees affect their attitude toward patient safety culture. Methods: We conducted a hospital-based study using the data obtained from SAQ questionnaires sent out to healthcare employees of a hospital. The study population consisted of 356 people. Employees were classified according to their individual variables (gender, age, education, etc). The primary outcomes were the patient safety culture scores. The mean scores and p values were calculated by using t tests and an ANOVA. Results: The outcome of the analysis indicated that males, senior staff and directors had a more positive patient safety culture attitude than females, junior staff and subordinate staff. The largest group of staff to have a poorer negative culture attitude was nurses. The culture attitude of healthcare employees with seniority >11 years was better than that of employees with seniority of between 3-4 years. Overall, operation room staff had a more positive culture attitude than other units. Conclusions: To improve the attitude of healthcare employees toward patient safety culture, the hospital in this study needs to develop and carry out related educational training targeting younger, female and subordinate nurses as well as operation room staff with seniority between 3-4 years.
