The purpose of this study was to examine the effect on perimenopausal Symptoms of auricular acupressure. Subjects were perimenopausal women and a pretest-and-posttest quasi-experimental design was used. Subjects were recruited from a Taiwan community and assigned at random into experimental and control groups. Experimental group subjects (n=27) received seed implants, which pressed on four auricular points, shen, naishengzhiq, pizhixia and neifenmi. Control group subjects (n=27) received no intervention. Result showed that the experimental group experienced better preimenopausal syndrome than the control group (p<.001). This study demonstrated the potential to improve perimenopausal Symptoms in preimenopausal women.
