The purpose of the paper is to investigate the difficulties and strategies of elementary school principals' professional development in Taiwan. In order to achieve this objective, we are (1) address the principal role of elementary school, (2) analyze the contents of principals' professional development, (3) explore the current situation and problems of elementary school principals' professional development, and (4) address several strategies to improve elementary school principals' professional development. In addition, according to the analyses and results of the research, the researcher proposes the several suggestions provided administration and related educate institutes, for the references of planning principals' professional development activities.
