”Slow-living” is a kind of positive living style. It pursuits the right tempo for the better living-no more rush and no more hurry. It could better to get the balance between our bodies and minds. In Taiwan, since 2005, a lot of recreation activities and commercial advertisements related the words-”slow-living”. We could not hard to image that people's needs and demanding. In 1997, the line of MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) opened to Tamsui. Also, two-day off Nations policy was implemented in 2001. These two major nations policies brought a serious tourism impact around the Tamsui Old Street area. Many years come, a lot of tourism papers and researches dedicated to the contribution to the Tamsui tourism development, satisfaction about the Tamsui tourists and the comfortable degree about the Tamsui recreation facilities. But not many papers and researches further said about how the attractions influence the people to settle themselves, no matter bodies and minds, down in Tamsui. Here, we tried to apply the ”slow-living” and Yi-Fu Tuan's ”escapism” to discuss about these attractions around the Tamsui Old Street Neighborhood. Snowball Sampling, Participation Observation and In-depth interviews discussion would be involved in this paper. What for a city related to the sense of happiness. It might illustrate the place matters. Thus, this paper, hopefully, dedicated to the very beginning discussion about people how and who like to do some ”slow-living” exercise around the Tamsui Old Street Neighborhood. Further, it would contribute to a new, possible thinking about the tourism, human and environment researches.
