Syncretism as a semantic type of a word is based on the processes of semantic conjugation (interface) of elementary units in the semantic structure of the word. Semantic contingency of syncretic units is usually solved in the context. Quite often it is retained in order to either maintain the semantic ambiguity or create imagery of the passage. Syncretism as the language phenomenon is more typical for attributive words. Verbs reveal categorial syncretism while adjectives and nouns discover the so-called integral syncretism that reflects the combining of the logical-objective features.
