安養機構住戶家屬對休閒治療之認知、態度與消費意願研究

摘要

隨著科技發展，醫藥技術發達以及環境的改善，人類壽命明顯延長。然而壽命的延長並不表示健康的延長，漫長的老年期生涯往往伴隨著一些慢性病。對於一些生理與心理方面的疾病除了藥物的控制之外，許多研究也指出透過「休閒治療」的方式能夠以一種更輕鬆且不具侵入性的方式而達到治療的目的。休閒治療剛開始在美國時，是由一群護士和志工，以休閒活動提升醫院裡老年人的生活滿意度和身心福祉。經過四十多年的發展，它已成為一項科學，倡導如何協助身、心、靈有困擾的人，建立自己的休閒生活。休閒治療的種類繁多，舉凡音樂、舞蹈、歌劇、藝術、太極拳、遊戲、運動等休閒活動，能使人類達到治療身心健康者皆屬於休閒治療的範圍。然而有關休閒治療之研究僅限於有關專家學者之個案探討，休閒治療對一般社會大眾，甚至醫學界而言，仍屬陌生。在台灣，安養機構之中高齡族群住戶，其居住環境之選擇與費用，大多由其家屬決定與付費。因此本研究以台北某財團法人安養院之中高齡族群住戶之家屬為例，採便利抽樣調查其對於休閒治療的認知、態度及消費意願，並以平均數與相關係數之假設檢定探討其間之關係，期望藉由本研究發現作為有關單位未來規劃、推廣與管理休閒治療之參考。

Particularly as people live longer, the chance of physical ailment or accident resulting in problems that can be treated by physiotherapeutic means increases. Therapy need not be formal treatment by a physiotherapist. Some studies specify that therapeutic recreation, TR, is a useful alternative to formal treatment. In fact, proactively it is recognized as a way to keep people healthy. TR is a 40s year old discipline that has been used to help people with physical and psychological problems. TR started in USA when several nurses and volunteers in a hospital employed recreational activities to make aged people more satisfied with their life and health. Now TR is broadly accepted in North America. What occurs as TR is very diversified. It includes music, dance, art, tai chi, games, sports and other leisure activities. Much research about the benefits of TR is in the form of case studies for facilities in Western countries. An important area of research, particularly when people pay for someone to participate in TR, is benefits for what is spent. In Taiwan most nursing home residency of elders is selected by and paid for by their progeny. This study is to be based TR occurring in a chain of nursing homes in Taipei and is to be conducted by personnel interview with convenience sampling. It is to examine the perceptions about and willingness to pay for of TR by the people who pay for their elders being in nursing home residency. Relationship among the above variables introduced above will be examined by mean difference, correlation and other statistical analyses to a degree based on control and causal considerations introduced. Basically, there are concerns with whether there are clear benefits of TR and if this has any relationship to the progeny's willingness to support such ”therapy”. The findings of this research are to be used for decision-making in relation to planning, promotion and management of the therapeutic recreation.
