There are advantages of saving space, improving the urban landscape and reducing the influence of external multi-high-voltage cables by laying power cables in the comprehensive corridor. However, due to the existence of a variety of municipal pipelines in the comprehensive corridor, the environment is more complex, which has mutual influence, resulting in the complex high-voltage cable fault state. Therefore, in order to solve the above issues, partial discharge signal is used in this paper to monitor the insulation state of cable on-line. By establishing the mathematical and simulation models of cable and partial discharge signal, and transforming the partial discharge signal with discrete wavelet transform, the denoising and reconstruction of partial discharge signal can be realized. The insulation state of cable can be monitored on-line by extracting signal characteristics, and based on time domain reflection method (TDR), preliminary localization of partial discharge sources is carried out. The reliability and validity of the insulation monitoring method are verified by the field experiment of high voltage cable.
